MARCELO EDUARDO SALINAS EYTEL

He was born the 25th February 1943 and was 31 years old at the time of his arrest. He was married to Jacqueline Druilly. He had a beautiful voice and loved singing and playing the guitar. His mother was of English ascendant but she is dead now.

His life was dedicated to his job as a radio and television technician and his political ideals for social justice.

On the 31st October 1974 some Military Intelligence Service (SIM) agents arrived at his house but he wasn't there. His pregnant wife knew that he wouldn't arrive until next morning. They searched the flat thoroughly and waited for him several hours then decided to take his wife as a hostage. The following morning when he was arriving to his house in a taxi and realising that there was something odd he instructed the driver not to stop but the agents shot the wheels of the taxi in order to stop him from escaping.

There are innumerable witnesses of the couple's detention and severe tortures. In spite of all the legal petitions, letters and appeals to the authorities and officials his fate is still unknown.
